Serum albumin is a major protein component of plasma with a molecular weight of 66kDa. It is synthesized in the liver as a non-glycosylated, negatively charged protein, capable of binding numerous lipophilic compounds, transporting fatty acids and regulating blood osmotic pressure. Our PtX™ Rabbit Anti-BSA (Biotin) binds bovine serum albumin and is suitable for use in Western blot and ELISA applications. The biotin labeling of this antibody ensures strong and stable interaction with avidin or streptavidin, making it suitable for a wide range of downstream applications.

PtX™ | Plant-Based Expression

The biotechnology behind the development and manufacture of this product, transient plant-based expression, effectively turns Nicotiana benthamiana plants into single-use, biodegradable bioreactors. Infiltrating this plant species with Agrobacterium tumefaciens cells, transformed with our proprietary plant expression vectors, allows rapid production of a wide variety of recombinant proteins. Plants are harvested and proteins extracted by various stages of filtration, clarification, purification, and polishing – resulting in a highly functional final product.
