The HA tag is derived from amino acid residues 98 – 106 of the human influenza hemagglutinin (HA) molecule. Recombinant proteins are often engineered to express the HA tag as a general epitope tag in expression vectors. HA tag facilitates detection, isolation, and purification of target proteins without compromising its bioactivity or distribution. HA-tagging of a recombinant protein and subsequent examination using anti-HA antibody, in either intact or permeabilized cells, allows researchers to study cellular expression levels, topology and functional activity of the HA-tagged protein. Antibody mediated detection of the HA tagged proteins further negates the need for developing specific antibodies for newly identified proteins, which are often unstable, difficult to purify, cross-reactive or poorly immunogenic proteins. Our PtX™ Mouse Anti-HA antibody exhibits high specificity towards HA-tagged proteins and undergoes rigorous testing to ensure consistent performance and reliability. The biotin labelling of this antibody ensures strong and stable interaction with avidin or streptavidin, making it suitable for a wide range of downstream applications, including Western blotting and ELISA.

PtX™ | Plant-Based Expression

The biotechnology behind the development and manufacture of this product, transient plant-based expression, effectively turns Nicotiana benthamiana plants into single-use, biodegradable bioreactors. Infiltrating this plant species with Agrobacterium tumefaciens cells, transformed with our proprietary plant expression vectors, allows rapid production of a wide variety of recombinant proteins. Plants are harvested and proteins extracted by various stages of filtration, clarification, purification, and polishing – resulting in a highly functional final product.
