The Spike Protein is the characteristic surface antigen of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Human coronaviruses are positive-stranded RNA viruses with large RNA genomes. Infection results in upper respiratory tract symptoms, similar to the common cold. The SARS-CoV-2 Spike glycoprotein is responsible for host cell membrane fusion and entry and serves as a target for the development of antibodies, entry inhibitors and vaccines. Our plant-made recombinant monoclonal antibody is fused to an Alpaca backbone and binds the SARS-CoV-2 Spike (S1) glycoprotein with high specificity. It is suitable for use in ELISA and Western blot.
