Cortisol, known as the stress hormone, has many functions in the human body, such as mediating the stress response, regulating metabolism, the inflammatory response, and immune function. It is produced in the cortex of the adrenal glands and is a naturally occurring steroid, synthesized from cholesterol. Glucocorticoid receptors are present in almost all tissues in the body. Therefore, cortisol is able to affect nearly every organ system.

PtX™ Rabbit Anti-cortisol, CBT_A0058, specifically detects cortisol, and has been validated for use in WB and ELISA.
