Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA-4), also known as CD152, is a critical immune checkpoint receptor that plays a pivotal role in regulating T-cell activation and immune responses. By binding to the B7 ligands expressed on antigen-presenting cells, CTLA-4 acts as a negative regulator, downregulating T-cell activation and dampening immune responses. While this mechanism is crucial for preventing excessive immune reactions and autoimmune disorders, it can also hinder effective immune responses against cancer cells.  Our PtX™ Human Anti-CTLA-4 exhibits high specificity towards CTLA-4 and undergoes rigorous testing to ensure consistent performance and reliability. This specificity allows researchers to elucidate the specific roles of CTLA-4 in immunological processes.

PtX™ Human Anti-CTLA-4 (HRP) is suitable for use in Western blot and ELISA applications. As it is fused at the genetic level to the Horseradish Peroxidase reporter enzyme, it saves time and money as only a single antibody incubation step is required, compared to the usual two.

PtX™ | Plant-Based Expression

The biotechnology behind the development and manufacture of this product, transient plant-based expression, effectively turns Nicotiana benthamiana plants into single-use, biodegradable bioreactors. Infiltrating this plant species with Agrobacterium tumefaciens cells, transformed with our proprietary plant expression vectors, allows rapid production of a wide variety of recombinant proteins. Plants are harvested and proteins extracted by various stages of filtration, clarification, purification, and polishing – resulting in a highly functional final product.
