TNF-Alpha (tumor necrosis factor alpha) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that is produced and released by various cell types, including T-cells, macrophages, and monocytes. TNF-α acts by binding to specific receptors on the surface of target cells, which leads to the activation of signaling pathways that result in inflammation, cell death, and tissue destruction. It also plays a role in the development of cancer and the progression of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's disease. Targeting TNF-α has become a major therapeutic strategy for treating cancer and inflammatory diseases. The high specificity and binding affinity of our PtX™ Human Anti-Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha Recombinant Antibody makes it an ideal tool for researchers studying TNF alpha-mediated signaling pathways and its potential as a therapeutic target. This antibody can be used in various applications including Western blotting and ELISA. This product is suitable for research use only and not for use in humans.

Figure 1: Functionality Testing of PtX™ Human Anti-TNF-Alpha ELISA Dose Response curve showing increasing absorbance with increasing amounts 96 well plate coated with 0.4 ng/µl of TNF alpha antigen.

Figure 2:  Western blot analysis of PtX™ Human Anti-TNF-Alpha. Lanes 2 – 6: Varying amounts of TNF- Alpha were run on an SDS-PAGE gel. Separated bands were transferred to the membrane and PtX™ Human Anti-TNF-α (1: 5 000) was used to detect the antigen. The single band of TNF-Alpha cytokine was visualized following the addition of anti-human secondary antibody with HRP and substrate. Our antibody was able to detect antigen amounts upwards of 25 ng (Lane 5).

PtX™ | Plant-Based Expression

The biotechnology behind the development and manufacture of this product, transient plant-based expression, effectively turns Nicotiana benthamiana plants into single-use, biodegradable bioreactors. Infiltrating this plant species with Agrobacterium tumefaciens cells, transformed with our proprietary plant expression vectors, allows rapid production of a wide variety of recombinant proteins. Plants are harvested and proteins extracted by various stages of filtration, clarification, purification, and polishing – resulting in a highly functional final product.
